Cool Runnings With Sinatra

She is such a polite husky sometimes. Today she asked me if we could take a different route that she thought would be easier on the knees. I said sure. About halfway into the run I realized we were really seeing a lot more geese today. Like, a lot more.

Me: Did you know all these geese would be here?

Sinatra: Not me. Why would you think that?

Me: Because your sense of smell is pretty amazing.

Sinatra: It’s true. It is. And yeah, I guess you got me. But isn’t it exciting?

Me: Not so much.

Sinatra: I feel so alive!

Me: I thought you chose this path for the knees.

Sinatra: I did, and look how many goosers there are at your knees! It’s way easier to get em’.

Me: Geez.

Wow! We really improved on our pace today. She said she was ready to go faster any time I was. She wasn’t kidding. It helps when there aren’t any distractions though. No geese were out today at all. None of her pup friends were out either. She was slightly interested in the guy riding his bike on the road because he had flashing lights.

Sinatra: What are those blinky things on his bicycle?

Me: Those are lights to let everyone know he’s there.

Sinatra: Do I need lights?

Me: Not right now, we run after the sun comes up and stay on the sidewalks.

Sinatra: Oh. But I want everyone to see me.

Me: Well, you’re super pretty so I’m sure everyone sees you.

Sinatra: I really am.

Me: Humble too. 🤦‍♂️

Ever loyal and ready to go anytime! She’s really something ya’ll. I know I hold her back a good bit, and she doesn’t know how much she pushes me. Once we get past the first mile she runs right beside me now for the most part. She wanted to go after a gaggle of geese today, but she kept her cool. By cool I mean, she settled for a couple of goose poo treats. Her name is Sinatra, Mrs. Jackson if you’re nasty….. so gross.

Sinatra: Are we still going to get to run even though it’s rainy?

Me: Well, it’s just a little sprinkle so sure!

Sinatra: Good, I need to go see a friend.

Me: Who?

Sinatra: I don’t know her name, but she’s got feathers and a long neck.

Me: Is it a goose?

Sinatra: Yes! I need to go see her.

Me: For what?

Sinatra: If I tell you we won’t get to go.

Me: Hmmm… Are you going to try to chase her?

Sinatra: Only because she likes it.

Me: She doesn’t like it.

Sinatra: Then why does she always run?

Me: She’s scared of you.

Sinatra: I just want to hug her with my teeth.

Me: That isn’t nice.

Me: Probably about 4 miles.

Sinatra: Let’s run 4 miles then.

Me: You know we have to run back home too.

Me: What do you want from the puppy store?

Sinatra: A new water buffalo horn.

Me: You have three!

Sinatra: They don’t taste as good as the new ones.

Me: Let’s wait until you finish the ones you have.

Sinatra: Ok. How far is it to the meat store?
